~ ANNUAL CALL FOR PLANT SALE VOLUNTEERS ~
  
March 6,  9:00 AM  -  2:00 PM
 
 
The chill of January is gone, and the spring planting season will be here before we know it.  
 
Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs for the Sunshine Community Gardens Spring Plant Sale. 
We need people for the sale date and also for the days preceding the sale.
 
Remember: The plant sale will never succeed without you, nor will the garden flourish.
 
 
When and how to help:
 
Beginning February 1, pre-sale activities
Help with ornamental and donated plants
Week preceding the sale, beginning February 28
Briefings for new receipt writers and cashiers, and a short meeting for all volunteers sometime during the week
Friday March 5, all day
Grounds preparation: setting up tents,chair, tables, etc.
Friday March 5, evening
Assist with volunteer plant purchases
(volunteers may purchase their plants the evening before the sale)
Put out temporary signs  
Plant Sale Day, Saturday March 6 - all day, 9 am - 2 pm
Put banners on fences (see Nancy)
Greet visitors at the gate, answer questions, hand out containers
Assist with greenhouse maintenance and sales
 
Many receipt writers & cashiers will be needed to work morning and afternoon shifts>
Plant Sale Day, Saturday, March 6, after 2:00 pm
Fold up tents, pick up temporary signs, restore garden to normal 
Also, Nancy Seibert needs to talk to last year's compost crew about their suggestions for improvement.
 
A sign-up sheet for Plant Sale Volunteers will be available on the little desk in the trailer,
or volunteers can email with their choices to Nancy Seibert, nancyrseibert@yahoo.com.
