SUNSHINE GARDENER SERVICE HOURS ARE DUE BY JUNE 30
Please remember cutting your grass and maintaining the area around your plot is NOT counted
towards the required service hours.
And don't forget to remove the high grass or other vegetation from your area's water spigots so
that you can check to see whether or not your hoses are leaking.
Tasks for Service Hours in June
1. Mow the grass
- outside the fence
- around the trailer office
- around the compost piles
2. Weed around and in the Greenhouse and Hoop House.
3. Cut the trees out of the fence on both sides.
>Remember to record your service hours in the Green Binder in the Tool Shed or online in the
Virtual Green Binder.

Street Closures Near Sunshine Gardens - Saturday Morning, June 5
There will be street closures west of the garden this Saturday morning for the Taco Shack 5K
and Kids Triathalon.
Expect delays between 4 a.m. and 12 noon in the area of Shoalwood Avenue and Ramsey Park.
This includes travel on 45th and 49th Streets in that area. Full road closures will take
place starting at 44th St. and traveling south on Rosedale Ave. and Burnet Rd., west along 40th
Street, north along Sinclair and Shoalwood avenues to 49th Street, then loop back to Shoalwood
Ave. via Woodview Ave.

GARDEN CLUB OF AUSTIN - FLOWER & VEGETABLE SHOW AND SALE
Saturday, June 5, 12 noon - 5 pm
Sunday, June 6, 10 am - 4 pm
Zilker Botanical Garden, 2220 Barton Springs Road
After the judging Saturday morning, the show is open and free to the public at about 12 noon.
Beautiful plants and cut flowers will be on display. Eclectic mix of plants will be available for
sale.

AUSTIN POND SOCIETY TOUR
Saturday, June 12 (south), 9 am - 5 pm

Sunday, June 13 (nouth), 9 am - 5 pm
It is a great opportunity to see a variety of ponds from small to large, simple to extravagant,
Austin-weird and conventional, natural and formal, and owner and professionally built.

tickets (wristbands).
Advanced tickets are $12.50, or $15 on the days of the event, and provide admittance for both
days.
